Objective: To develop an understanding of the basic principles of light, shadow, reflected light, transparency, and refraction, to enhance students’ perception of these qualities of light and increase their understanding of how to best use those qualities in a two-dimensional drawing to convey a sense of depth and modeling to their forms.

Finishing techniques using watercolor and colored pencil

September 10 and 24 from10 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.


Objective:  To learn new techniques using watercolor, watercolor pencil and colored pencil to enhance the detail and quality of a finished botanical illustration.

 

"And You Thought You Knew Colored Pencil!"

March 19 & 20 from 9:30 - 4:00 pm.
Taught at DC 104's selected location in Novi, MI
 

Objective:  For advanced colored pencil students to focus on non-traditional ways of using colored pencil – in all its various forms – to help guide our work in the areas of creating backgrounds and surface textures.
