| A series of self-paced lessons with Amy Lindenberger on color perception, theory, mixing and harmonies for colored pencil students, from beginner to advanced levels |
| For many years I have been interested in the prospect of writing a book about understanding and working with color, in colored pencil. My idea is to make this book a workbook, which colored pencil artists would be able to use on their own to enhance their color perception, their knowledge of color theory, color mixing and color harmonies, as well as how to develop their own preferred color palettes. After some consideration, I’ve come to realize that there’s so much that goes into these skills, and this is such an individualized process, that it will take some time to put together the exercises needed to make this book really useful. These classes will offer the exercises which will eventually become part of the book. But while I hope the book will become a useful tool for colored pencil artists, I think the experience of working through the exercises one on one with an instructor will be even more valuable to those who really want to get a full understanding of color. |
| Each student will work at their own pace, within a group setting, doing color-related exercises only. You may take as many or as few classes as you wish. Each student must complete a color wheel for colored pencil; if you’ve already done that (as well as other color exercises) in one of my classes or with Cathie, you will not need to repeat that exercise, but you will need to bring the completed color wheel (and exercises) with you when you come to your classes. Students may pay by the class at the rate of $17.50 per class, or they may buy a block of four classes for $60 (but payments are not refundable). If you choose to buy the block of classes, you do not need to attend class each week; I will list the dates when I intend to hold the classes and you may choose which dates you would like to make use of your credit. In fact, it is not necessary for you to commit to all of your dates at this time; you just need to indicate the day and time when you would like to take your first class, and we can discuss further classes at that point. Classes will be held on Thursday mornings from 10 – 12:30, and Thursday evenings from 6:30 – 9, at the Main Street Lesson Center (1664 N. Main St. in North Canton). |
